It was a bittersweet day. We have LOVED the Natchez Trace, and now it has come to an end. The southern most tip, in the city of Natchez, is actually the beginning of the trace, so as we neared the finish, we counted down the mile markers. When we made it to Natchez we settled in our hotel and then made dinner plans. People had recommended Magnolia Grill down by the river. We caught a ride from Rock'nRoll taxi services, since of course they don't have Uber or Lyft in these small towns. Our taxi driver was this cute old man who grew up in Natchez and could tell us all about it! We explored the riverfront, eating delicious seafood at Camp Restaurant since Magnolia was all booked up (due to the 4th of July). We wanted to stay to watch the fireworks by the river but knowing we have a long day tomorrow made us retire early to rest up.
