After we celebrated the victory of reaching the Gulf, we anticipated a fun evening out on the town. After all, it was my dad's birthday!! My mom was thoughtful enough to bring us fresh clothes - it was so refreshing to put on something other than spandex shorts! And feel cute and smell good! We walked to find food, then drove a bit south to explore the bayous. That's when we spontaneously booked a swamp tour and got to see & hold alligators! After that adventure, we returned and explored the French Quarter district, enjoying live music & soul food at the B.B. King Blues Club. That's where I ate a half of a chicken and thought, well I just biked 1200 miles I could probably use some protein. We had fun walking around and taking in all the sights & sounds!

Congratulations Michael and Mariah! What a journey you've been on. I hope you have a great time in NOLA and then get out before the storm hits and the river rises! Anxious to visit when you get back home. Dan
